Team Requirements:
(CD and Tape player will be available, coaches should bring a backup copy of their music,
there are no sound checks. Additional spotters/coaches are not allowed on the floor except for Tiny divisions.)
Youth Football:
Maximum total routine time of 3 minutes, up to 90 seconds can be music.
Recreation/School:
CNY Cheer Company recommends a maximum total routine time of 2 minutes, 30 seconds, but to
accommodate all schools, we will allow a maximum total routine time of 3 minutes, up to 90
seconds can be music.
Non tumbling divisions (school teams only) cannot include any type of gymnastics move,
including, but not limited to: rolls, handstands, splits, cartwheels, backbends, walkovers,
handsprings, etc.
College and All Star:
Maximum total routine time of 2 minutes, 30 seconds. Music allowed for all or part of the routine.
Stunt Group/Partner Stunt Requirements:
Maximum routine time of 1 minute, 30 seconds, must be done to music.
All Star stunt groups may incorporate up to level 5 skills.
College and Open All Star stunt groups/partner stunts may incorporate up to level 6 skills
Individuals (offered at Ultimate Cheer Fest only)
Maximum time: 1:30, all stars may be all music
Tumbling division must include at least one tumbling pass with a minimum of a round off backhandspring.
Each routine should include jumps, motions/cheer if High School, dance if All Star, and tumbling if required. Non tumbling routines cannot include any gymnastics move of any type.
Sideline Showcase Requirements (Fall Cheer Classic only) :
Each squad will have up to 30 seconds to show their sideline. Poms, signs, and props are allowed,
but there is no stunting, tumbling, or jumping allowed. We’re looking for crowd pleasing creativity!
The sideline showcase will be judged on motions, voice, showmanship, creativity, timing, and overall
effect.
NYS Coach of the Year:

Parents, cheerleaders, staff, and school administrators can nominate their coach for the 2007
NYS Coach of the Year award! Submit an essay telling us why your coach deserves this award.
We know all coaches work hard and give so much back to their teams, but tell us what makes your
coach stand out from the rest. Finalists will be called to the floor and the winner announced
at the NYS Cheerleading Championship!
